Housing stability and veteran status are separate questions
A veteran may need housing while also navigating benefits, employment, disability, recovery, family change, or a transition from another program. The best referral identifies which needs belong to the residence and which need a qualified outside agency.
House of Hope evaluates residential fit. The VA, county housing authorities, accredited veterans service officers, and licensed providers handle benefits, vouchers, treatment, and clinical care within their authority.
What House of Hope can offer
The core is a clean shared home in Lawrenceville, familiar residential routines, adult community, and an intake conversation that respects the individual. Veteran-aware does not mean military-themed programming or government affiliation. It means understanding that referrals may involve service-connected benefits, VA appointments, or veteran-specific outside partners—and communicating carefully about those boundaries.

Where VA and public programs fit
Some veterans may qualify for federal or county programs such as HUD-VASH or Supportive Services for Veteran Families. Those programs have their own eligibility, referral, documentation, and availability rules. A private shared residence and a federal housing voucher are not interchangeable.

Prepare a respectful referral
Begin with the veteran’s consent, preferred contact information, housing timeline, county, mobility or accessibility needs, and whether an outside professional is coordinating services. Avoid emailing discharge papers, Social Security numbers, medical records, or benefit account information through a general form.
